Western Idaho Fair Brings Big Names, Big Laughs to 2018 Concert Lineup

Famous Comedian & Rock/Country Stars Take the DISH Grandstand

In 2018, the Western Idaho Fair presents three mainstage concerts and its first-ever comedy show on the DISH Grandstand. These shows are free with Fair admission, with limited seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. Gates open at 6:30 pm, and each show starts at 7:30 pm.

Bret Michaels rocks the place on Tuesday, August 21, presented by 107.9 LITE FM. Michaels is a multiplatinum global superstar who turned his passion for music into a multi-faceted brand that encompasses record-breaking touring sales, reality TV stardom, and legendary songs that have sold over 32 million records. Rising to fame as the front man of Poison, one of rock’s most iconic and enduring bands, he helped define the rock ‘n roll scene on the Sunset Strip. Their massive success includes selling over 30 million records worldwide and numerous hit singles. Equally as successful, Michaels’ solo career has charted its own course with multiple solo albums.

STYX takes the stage Wednesday, August 22, presented by BOB FM 96.1. The six men comprising STYX—James “JY” Young, Tommy Shaw, Chuck Panozzo, Todd Sucherman, Lawrence Gowan, and Ricky Phillips—have committed to rocking together with audiences far and wide by averaging over 100 shows a year, every year, since 1999. Founded in Chicago in 1972, STYX has the unique distinction of being the first band in rock history to have four consecutive certified multimillion-selling albums in a row, including The Grand Illusion, Pieces of Eight, Cornerstone and Paradise Theater.

Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias brings the laughs on Thursday, August 23, presented by Mix 106 and 103.5 KISSFM. Gabriel Iglesias’s stand-up comedy is a mixture of storytelling, parodies, characters and sound effects that bring his personal experiences to life. His unique and animated comedy style has made him popular among fans of all ages. Iglesias is one of America’s most successful stand-up comedians performing to sold-out concerts around the world. He is also one of the most watched comedians on YouTube with over 350 million views and has over 9 million fans on Facebook. Celebrating 20 years in stand-up comedy, Iglesias is currently on his new world tour, “One Show Fits All.”

Randy Houser performs Friday, August 24, presented by WOW 104.3. With an inimitable voice the New York Times describes as “wholly different, thicker and more throbbing, a caldron bubbling over,” Randy Houser racked up five consecutive country radio hits and over five million singles sales after shifting record labels to Stoney Creek Records. He topped the charts with the “How Country Feels,” “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight,” “Goodnight Kiss” (also his first No. 1 as a songwriter), and “We Went.” He also earned critical acclaim for his powerful delivery of the Top 5 smash and CMA Song of the Year-nominated “Like A Cowboy.”
